Who I am

WorldEscapes is an independent travel advisory operated by Cesar in Miami, Florida. This website is meyeworldescapes.com. You can reach me at info@meyeworldescapes.com.

What I collect, and when

When you enquire

Your name, email, where you want to go, rough dates, party size, and anything you add in the notes field. That’s the consult form and nothing else.

When you become a client

Traveller names as printed on passports, passport country and expiry month, ages of any children, home airport, loyalty programme numbers, budget, dietary requirements or allergies, and any mobility considerations you choose to share.

I ask for the mobility question in terms of what I should plan around — stairs, distances, heat — rather than asking anyone to disclose a medical condition. I need the planning constraint, not the diagnosis.

What I never ask for on this website

Passport numbers, card details, or government ID numbers. If a booking needs those, they’re collected through my host agency’s secure systems, never through a form on this site.

Why I collect it

To plan and book your trip. Dietary and mobility information is used to make arrangements that work on the ground — flagged to a restaurant or hotel only where necessary, and only with your knowledge.

Who I share it with

Only the suppliers needed to deliver your trip: hotels, tour operators, transport providers, and my host agency. I don’t sell your information, rent it, or share it for advertising.

This site and its forms run on third-party services that process data on my behalf. Form submissions may pass through an automated spam-detection service.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that don’t become bookings: deleted within twelve months. Client trip records: kept for the period required for accounting and commission reconciliation, then deleted. Ask me to delete your information sooner and I will, unless I’m legally required to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask what I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Email me and I’ll respond within thirty days. This doesn’t cover records I’m obliged to keep for legal, administrative or security reasons.

Submitting an enquiry does not sign you up to a mailing list. If I ever start one it’ll be opt-in and separate.

Cookies

This site sets only what it needs to function. If you leave a comment you can opt in to saving your name and email in a cookie so you don’t retype them; those last a year. Logging in to the site — which only I do — sets cookies for the session and display preferences.

No advertising cookies, and no cross-site tracking. [If you add Google Analytics or similar, say so here.]

Embedded content from other sites

Pages here may include embedded content such as videos or maps. Embedded content behaves as though you’d visited the other website directly — those sites can collect data about you, set their own cookies, and track your interaction with that content, particularly if you’re logged in to them.

Photographs

The photos on this site are mine. If you send me images, be aware that photo files can carry embedded location data, and that anyone downloading an image from a website can extract it. I strip location data from images I publish.

Comments

If commenting is enabled on a post, I collect what’s in the comment form plus your IP address and browser information, which helps catch spam. An anonymised string derived from your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to check for a profile picture — their policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely so follow-ups can be approved automatically.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children under 13 and I don’t knowingly collect their information. Where a trip includes children, I collect only their ages and passport names, provided by the adult booking.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
